2018 is another year for Audi A7 which comes with only the lightest update. When Audi introduces this car in 2012, the A7 is not only a success for Audi, but has also inspired many competitors. The A7 fastback roof line is everywhere, from simple compact sedans to luxury models.
The great thing about the 2018 Audi A7 is that there’s more to it than just a pretty sedan. This is actually one of the successful cars to be both practical and beautiful. The rear fastback not only make wonders for it’s appearance, but also offers a large hatchback trunk and accessible than a regular sedan. Although the rear seat does not have as much headroom as most luxury sedans, but it will not classify it as a flaw.
Trim, Features & Engine Specs
The 2018 Audi A7 is a midsize luxury car with a hatchback cargo area that available in two trim levels: Premium Plus and Prestige.
The 2018 Audi A7 Premium Plus comes standard with 19-inch wheels, adaptive and automatic LED headlights, automatic wipers, a power liftgate, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, Audi Drive Select, Audi Pre Sense Basic, power-folding mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors, keyless ignition and entry.
Inside, you’ll get four-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, a rearview camera, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable steering wheel, driver memory settings, heated eight-way power seats (with four-way driver lumbar adjustment), a navigation system, Audi Connect, the MMI electronics interface, voice controls, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, a 14-speaker Bose surround-sound system with a media player interface, a CD player, and satellite radio.
The 2018 Audi A7 Prestige adds power-closing doors, a corner view parking camera, a head-up display, ventilated front seats and passenger lumbar adjustment.
Available for all the 2018 Audi A7 trim is the Competition package, which adds high-gloss black trim pieces, a sport-tuned suspension, 20-inch wheels, a high-performance rear differential, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, sport seats with upgraded leather, a four-seat cabin configuration with more contoured rear sport seats.
The Cold Weather package adds a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. The Driver Assistance package adds automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and intervention, a forward collision warning and automatic braking system.
The Comfort Seating package adds ventilated front seats with massage function, upgraded leather and extra adjustments. The S line Sport package adds special exterior flourishes, 20-inch wheels, a black headliner and a sport-tuned suspension. Other options include rear side airbags and a Black optic package that adds exterior trim and gloss-black 20-inch wheels.
All the 2018 Audi A7 is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard.
In performance testing, an Audi A7 3.0T accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, which is very quick for this class of car with a six-cylinder engine. EPA estimated fuel economy stand at 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined.
The 2018 Audi A7 cabin is beautiful. Skin is not the most flexible, but abundant in quantity. Finely finished wood trim adds a luxurious feel. Buttons, knobs and stems move with beautiful fluidity and engage with fun clicks.
The 2018 Audi A7 is a first-class travel car, with almost any comfort you want, including a cabin that is so quiet and a sturdy seat. The sloped roofline reduces the rear headroom, especially for passengers sitting in the middle. But the spacious leg room allows the passengers of a taller body to step down a bit and relax with ease.
Apart from the sloping roof style, the 2018 Audi A7 has excellent visibility. There is a large three-quarter rear window and thin pillar. It does not feel like being in a bunker like it could happen in other stylish sedans.
Although the 2018 Audi A7 may be unfriendly like the Audi A6 and other sedans, it’s good when carrying the goods. There is plenty of storage space for personal items in the cabin. There are 24.5 cubic feet of deep cargo area, very accessible and versatile from other competitors offer.
Release Date and Price
Audi dealers are taking orders for the 2018 A7 now, but there is no official word on when they will arrive. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for a base A7 starts just below $71,000 and add $3,000 for the Competition package.
