2018 Acura TLX Review, Specs, Price
In a small luxury sedan class, 2018 Acura TLX has shone for a combination of a pleasant driving experience, smart technology interiors and friendly prices. Since replacing the TL and TSX in the lineup, TLX has become the best-selling sedan. Although it has a lot to offer, Acura TLX has no fancy charm. It’s style not only makes it invisible on the road, but there is no specific performance model. With the 2018 update, Acura has solved this problem by giving TLX a beautiful face, better driving attitude, and redesigning the cabin for easier use.
In contrast to the general notion that refreshments do not cover all changes, the new 2018 Acura TLX is a major update, including the addition of a new model. TLX A-Spec is a new choice for 2018, and offers more than just a stylish distinction. While we love the A-Spec style cues, more importantly choosing A-Spec or TLX V6-powered does make a difference when driving.
Trim & Features
The 2018 Acura TLX is a midsize luxury sedan offered five trim level: TLX 2.4L, TLX 2.4L with Technology, TLX 3.5L with Technology, TLX 3.5L A-Spec and TLX 3.5L with Advance package.

The TLX 2.4L with Technology package adds rear cross traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, automatic wipers, a climate control system, keyless entry for the rear doors, leather upholstery, navigation, a 10-speaker premium audio system.
The 2018 Acura TLX 3.5L models are similar with the base four-cylinder variant, but it uses 18-inch wheels and more power adjustments for the front passenger seat. The TLX 3.5L with Technology package offers the same features as the Technology package on the four-cylinder version plus revised leather upholstery and a power-extending thigh support for the driver seat.
The TLX 3.5L with Advance package adds remote engine start, parking sensors, auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, a heated windshield, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, wireless device charging, a surround-view camera system.
The new TLX 3.5L A-Spec combine features from the Technology package and the Advance package, plus 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, sport front seats and quicker steering.
Despite getting updated styling and has many new features, the 2018 Acura TLX engines and transmissions remain the same. The base model remains front-drive only, with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 206 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Like the front-drive V-6 models, the TLX all-wheel-drive is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine good for 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. With carrying over the same engines and transmissions, EPA estimated fuel economy is expected to remain about the same. The Acura 2018 TLX official ratings not yet released, but 2017 models rated at 24/35 mpg city/highway with the four-cylinder version, 21/34 mpg with the 2017 TLX V-6 FWD, and 21/31 mpg on the 2017 TLX V-6 AWD.
Though it does not have the feel of high-class luxury like some of its competitors, the 2018 Acura TLX interior is well built from high quality materials. Infotainment controls are not as practical or easy as some competitors, but offer similar functions. All knobs and buttons feel high quality.
Visibility and space is 2018 Acura TLX primary key. There is plenty of leg room and headroom in front. The space in the back seats is also very impressive, although it may be a problem for passengers higher than 6 feet. Overall, the 2018 Acura TLX will be much convenient for four adults with average size.
As with most Acura products, the storage space for small items is very generous. There are many cubbies of different sizes in door panels, dashboards or consoles. Cargo space exceeds the number of most competitors, there are 14.3 cubic feet. It also has a 60/40-split rear seat folded nearly flat.
