2018 Audi A8 Specs, Release Date, Price
In recent years the German luxury sedan has tried to be more luxurious and more conspicuous, to amaze the owners with a display of luxury and sophistication. The 2018 Audi A8 is different. It’s more conservative in the luxury segment that boasts and spoils you without much bragging.
Entering the sixth year without a full redesign, the Audi A8 looks out of date at some point. Features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Audi Virtual Cockpit control interface are not available. Even a simple USB port isn’t available. A next generation A8 is expected to arrive in 2019, and undoubtedly will be fully up-to-date.

All the 2018 Audi A8 models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The A8 3.0T is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. In performance testing, this model accelerates from zero to 60 mph in quick 5.3 seconds. EPA fuel economy rated at 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city/29 mpg highway).
The 2018 Audi A8 4.0T gets a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates 450 hp and 444 lb-ft of torque. In track testing, an A8 4.0T with sprinted to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. EPA fuel economy returns 22 mpg combined (18 mpg city/29 mpg highway).
Cabin quality and design must be the deciding factor when shopping in this segment. And the 2018 Audi A8 offers this with first-class materials, smart style and full high-tech features. Audi is famous for their simple interior, but the A8 is very luxurious in its execution, with plenty of rich wood trim and soft leather surfaces.
There is no lack of comfort inside the A8, even with a standard front seat. Upgrading to an optional 18-way ventilated seat further enhances your satisfaction, and the massage function is more indulgent. The same comfort can also be enjoyed in the rear seats by upgrading to heated seats. Even without that option, rear passengers enjoy plenty of space and facilities.
The cargo capacity is a weak point for the A8, since the trunk has only 14.2 cubic feet. Some compact economy sedans can match that.
