2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Review, Release Date, Specs, Price – Named after the mountain road winding in Europe, the 2018 Alfa Romeo has a special focus on performance. With more horsepower and more torque, time has gives this elegant SUV a strong hand to competete against established player like the Mercedes GLC 300, BMW X3, Audi Q5, orsche Macan, Acura RDX and Jaguar F-Pace.
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio may be the new kid on this segment, but it’s also the smartest and best-looking SUV in class. The Italian design of a sleek and sculpted body distinguishes it from most other SUVs, and the specification further extends the gulf in the literal sense. A dull nose with an inverted triangular grille (Alfa’s characteristic) does get criticized, but it’s up to Stelvio to decide.
Trim, Features and Specification
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will be offered in three trims levels: base, the Stelvio Ti (Turismo Internazionale) and the high-performance Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Standard feature for the Stelvio base include 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition /entry, remote ignition, drive modes, leather upholstery, rearview camera and a 7-inch display. The Sport package come with 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, aluminum pedals , roof rails and column-mounted paddle shifters.
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti adds 19-inch wheels, front parking sensors, wood interior trim, heated seats and steering wheel, satellite radio and an 8.8-inch display. The Sport package features with 20-inch wheels and 12-way power-adjustable sport seats. The Lusso package include 19-inch wheels, leather surfaces, 12-way power front seats and premium leather upholstery.
Optional for all models include collision warning and mitigation, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive are standard and pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Alfa estimates these models will run from zero to 60 mph in a quick 5.4 seconds.
The high-performance Stelvio Quadrifoglio is powered by a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine which produces 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Its also uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Alfa claiming that Stelvio Quadrifoglio can knock off the zero-to-60-mph run in 3.9 seconds and reach top speed of 177 mph.
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio has a minimal interior like the Audi, and that’s great. The buttons has removed and moved to the infotainment system. Although the design is not as unique as the exterior, but when it comes to the interior it’s a still has a great value. If we look at BMW or Jaguar interior, the cabin comes with excellent material. This is especially true for top models like Quadellogel Stelvio.
Price and Release Date
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will sell with price starting from $43,000, and the Stelvio Ti models will start from $45,000. If you pick the Sport packages, it will add cost about $1,800 and $2,500, respectively. Pricing for the 2018 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio still not yet available.
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will be available in dealer showrooms late this summer, while the Quadrifoglio models will be announced later this year.
